Inside the Royal Containers Plant Tour
AICC Annual National Meeting Plant Tour at Royal Containers
What a fantastic day and turnout for the AICC National Meeting which included a plant tour at Royal Containers. We were thrilled to host over 100 visitors through our plant during the AICC National Meeting in Toronto this past month. Our office and plant employees were excited to share why Royal Containers continues to be a leader in packaging manufacturing and also to share a little Canadian hospitality.
While plant operations never slowed, our guests were treated to a custom tour of our newly implemented Lean Manufacturing or as we call it, the CI (Continuous Improvement) Program, including our state of the art Obeya Room. One of only 5 in the world in the packaging industry, an Obeya room acts as “mission control” for identifying and addressing areas of improvement and the evaluation of our plant and office’s ongoing productivity and effectiveness.
Our guests were able to see first hand the organization, effectiveness, and efficiencies we are now experiencing through our CI Program. “Maximizing and improving productivity within our organization has always been a company goal for us, we have to continually learn how to make boxes faster, better and more cost-efficiently to build upon the partnerships we have with our customers,” said Terri-Lynn Levesque of Royal Containers; “and we have always encouraged our employees to take an active part in improving our productivity. Showing our fellow AICC members our newly revamped plant operations and demonstrating its effectiveness was an absolute pleasure for all of us.”
Thank you to all the team and employees that made this AICC tour a success!
