Sustainability

Throughout the Canadian paper packaging industry, it is understood that in order to make the Paris Climate Agreement mandate to keep the global temperature from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius, we need to follow and expand sustainable practices. In fact, everywhere, we are becoming a more circulation-oriented society.

Royal Containers appreciates that paper-based packaging is highly recyclable and assisted through provincially legislated Blue Box programs. We know it is a good thing when Greenpac Paper Mill is consistently supplied with the content that produces the 100% recycled linerboard used in our corrugated products. It is where our eco ethic starts and never ends.

We take our response to climate change seriously at both our Brampton and St. Thomas locations where we promote resource recycling and regularly perform onsite checks to prevent leaks of dies or inks, as well as ensure optimum overall efficiency of our equipment.

The reasons why sustainability is so important at Royal Containers are limitless. Responsible forestry means conserving biodiversity. Looking sustainably at the future means taking into consideration that climate change repercussions can create disruptions in raw material procurement and severe weather can affect transportation. Delayed deliveries, decreased production volume and increased costs are all outcomes that we work hard to avoid.

Our environmental ethic fully aligns with our sustainable vertical integration supply chain vision. As stakeholders in Greenpac Mill and Tencorr Packaging, we have productive insight and input into the raw materials that we turn into boxes, cartons, and displays that our customers rely on.
